Two type of anti virus'

I'm just wondering which would be better in Anti-Virus capabitity. I have AVG and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, and im deciding which one to uninstall. I know AVG is anti spyware aswell, but does spyware really matter?? And say if i was in the case where i had just downloaded a virus/opened one, would Malwarebytes' have a message popup saying "You have a virus, click here to move to vault". Help appreciated

AVG has a few products, it has separate products like Antivirus & anti spyware, and all in ones like it's internet security suite which includes firewall, antivirus, anti spyware etc.

If you are using only the antivirus version of AVG you have to run another anti spyware and yes, it does matter.

Remember that Malwarebytes is not an antivirus, so you would still need AVG. If you are using the free version of Malwarebytes Anti Malware then you will have real time protection to protect you from infections when opening files.

Hmm.. What is real time protection?? And what is the difference between malware and anti virus?? And what could spyware do, if used against the computer? Sorry im new to anti virus

Malware is short for Malicious Software, software that does harm to your computer. An antivirus protects you from viruses & malware.

Spyware as it name suggests, is like a spy software, it secretly monitors what you are doing. It can interfere with your control of the computer in other ways, such as installing additional software, redirecting Web browser activity, accessing websites blindly that will cause more harmful viruses

A real time protection is automatic protection provided by most antivirus, antispyware, and other antimalware programs in real time. In other words while data being processed in the computer, all data in files already on the computer is analysed each time you attempt to access the files.
