help windows reinstallation

Hi, recently my laptop came up with a blue screen and quickly shut down in the middle of a virus scan. it will no longer turn on. when i power it on the light turns on but nothing shows up. Is there a way i can reinstall windows on this computer at all, thanks for any help.

Do you have a recovery disc provided by your laptop vendor or did you make one when you purchased it?

the disk came with my laptop. its a gateway if that matters.

Insert the disk and restart your computer, press the F12 button repeatedly if there is an option asking you if you want to do a repair or a destructive recovery, choose destructive to bring your windows back to it's factory state.

Remember that all the data in your computer will be lost.
