In a recent interview on the gadget Web site Pocket-lint, Samsung UK's director of consumer electronics, Andy Griffiths, indicated that Samsung only sees the Blu-ray format lasting around five years before it's replaced by another technology.

Burning dvd is common only untill after a few years when dvd is first used. Which only last a few years after blue-ray was introduced. Technology is advancing way too quick than we expects.
