I have a copy of Guitar Hero 3 on the PC.

I install it and plays it on my XP computer and it works perfectly fine.
My friend borrowed the game from me and tried to install it onto his Vista Quad Core computer.
but he get an cab file corrupt error during installation.

but it's not possible... the day i before i lent it to him i JUST installed it into my XP computer.
and the next day it's corrupted?

This is the 2nd time it's happening when installing in vista. it seem to work really well on XP but screws up it's installation in Vista.

according to ASPR website, the manufacturer of Guitar Hero Games.
the game is supposed to support XP SP2, Windows Vista

ASPR: Guitar Hero 3 Game Specifications

What is the problem actually? is it that the game can't run properly on vista?
or it's my friend's computer problem? or is it best to ask this question on a Guitar Hero game based forum?

Hope someone could help out.

Guitar hero 3 on PC is kind of popular among my friends so we borrow it around.
but most of my friends own vista computers. hope someone could figure this out for me. thanks.

Hello friend,
If I may ask, are your friends running Vista32bit or Vista64bit?

Thanks,

My guess : your fren is using vista x64

1)Guitar hero dosnt support vista x64

Reason :
Vista x64 is running on 64 bit. 64bit is running a different architecture completely different from the old 32bit. It is not compatible with unsupported applications.

How to check :
Right click my computer and press properties, OS should appear under general tab.
