How to Reset Windows Firewall in Windows 10

If you have misconfigured the Windows Firewall in Windows 10 and you are having network connection issues, it is good idea to reset Windows Firewall to its default rules. When you reset Windows Firewall, all the custom rules will be removed, and the default rules will be restored.

To restore the default Firewall configuration, you can use "Windows Firewall with Advanced Security", or the Command Prompt utility, Netsh.exe. We will use Netsh.exe command-line utility. They will both allow you to revert the changes made to Windows Firewall all at once.



How to Reset Windows Firewall in Windows 10

To reset Firewall rules in Windows 10 using the Netsh.exe command-line utility open Command Prompt with administrative privileges.
