How to Configure Touchpad in Windows 10

Whether you use a laptop, a 2-in-1 device or any other kind of mobile computer, it is quite important that you set up the touchpad to work the way you want it.

With Windows 10, Microsoft brought new settings for the touchpad. Now we have settings for handling simple settings like delaying the clicks when typing or advanced settings like touchpad gestures that trigger different actions. These settings depend on the specific hardware that you have and its drivers.

Microsoft divides the touchpads available on the market into two broad categories:

Precision Touchpads -  are a new kind of touchpad introduced with some Windows 8 laptops. They’re supposed to be more accurate and sensitive and also have a few more touch gestures.

Normal Touchpads -  by default, these touchpads don't support Windows gestures and have fewer features and options available than precision touchpads. However, depending on the manufacturer and model of the touchpad, its drivers could include some functions that are found on precision touchpads.

To find out what kind of touchpad you have on your Windows device. Open Settings app by pressing Windows + I keys.

In the Settings app, click on the Devices tile.
