RAM upgrade and not sure of what else I'm supposed to do

My ex usually handled the techy stuff on my computer and this is the first time I've actually poked around in my tower. My computer is up and running and my PC info is showing the RAM upgrade, but there was talk in some of the reviews for my Ripjaws about changing something in the BIOS??? I'm not sure how to approach this.

My old memory was 4 GB DDR3 1600 ... it came with my iBUYPOWER HORUS Series NE659FX

I don't know what you can do in the BIOS. If your computer recognizes the RAM, then you should be good to go.
