Second Scan Anti Root was clean. Still has hesitation when clicking on an icon or anything else. Also I have a picture in the photo gallery explaining what happened to my files and how to get the files back. It says HELP DeCRYPT. The other icon leads to a web site called giggapaysun.com to a service to help decrypt the files. Not sure what that is all about. It is a new thing that came up a couple days ago.

Looking over your log it seems you don't have any antivirus software.

Before we continue download and install a free antivirus.

Remember to only install one antivirus!

1) Avast! Home Edition
2) AVG Free Edition
3) Avira AntiVir Personal
4) MicroSoft Security Essentials All versions and all languages.
5) Comodo Antivirus (Uncheck during installation "Install Comodo SafeSurf..", Make Comodo my default search provider" and "Make Comodo Search my homepage" if you choose this one)

It is strongly recommended that you run only one antivirus program at a time. Having more than one antivirus program active in memory uses additional resources and can result in program conflicts and false virus alerts. If you choose to install more than one antivirus program on your computer, then only one of them should be active in memory at a time.

Update Your Java (JRE)

Old versions of Java have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system.

First Verify your Java Version

If there are any other version(s) installed then update now.

Get the new version (if needed)

If your version is out of date install the newest version of the Sun Java Runtime Environment.

Note: UNCHECK any pre-checked toolbar and/or software offered with the Java update. The pre-checked toolbars/software are not part of the Java update.

Be sure to close ALL open web browsers before starting the installation.

Remove any old versions

1. Download JavaRa and unzip the file to your Desktop.
2. Open JavaRA.exe and choose Remove Older Versions
3. Once complete exit JavaRA.

Additional Note: The Java Quick Starter (JQS.exe) adds a service to improve the initial startup time of Java applets and applications. To disable the JQS service if you don't want to use it, go to Start > Control Panel > Java > Advanced > Miscellaneous and uncheck the box for Java Quick Starter. Click OK and reboot your computer.
***********************************************
You should defrag your hard drive soon. Do not defrag if your hard drive is a Solid State drive.

I'd like to scan your machine with ESET OnlineScan

I have McAfee Internet Security on this laptop. It is updated, has anti virus and firewall protection that is all active. I checked the add/remove program list and it is there. Wonder why it didn't show up on the scan? Do you want me to download another or not?

Your Windows Security Center is not turned on. You should really turn this on. It will report if something happens to your security. You should also disable your Windows Firewall if your AV has a firewall. Two active firewalls will cause conflicts.
Do you want me to download another or not? .

No, as long as you keep your AV updated.

Can not turn on Windows Security Center on ...gives me the same message= Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You many not have the appropriate permission to access this item. I have tried everything. Is there any scan that can fix this message. It is not allowing me access to anything?

Do you have the Vista disk? Please do even if you don't have the disk. Please tell me if it asks for the disk

1/ Click the Start button.

2/ From the Start Menu, Click All programs followed by Accessories.

3/ In the Accessories menu, Right Click on the Command Prompt option.

4/ From the drop down menu that appears, Click on the Run as administrator option.

5/ If you have the User Account Control (UAC) enabled you will be asked for authorisation prior to the command prompt opening. You may simply need to press the Continue button if you are the administrator or insert the administrator password etc.

6/ In the Command Prompt window, type: sfc /scannow and then press Enter.

7/ A message will appear stating that the system scan will begin.

8/ Be patient because the scan may take some time.

9/ If any files require replacing SFC will replace them. You may be asked to insert your Vista DVD for this process to continue.

10/ If everything is okay you should, after the scan, see the following message Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations.

11/ After the scan has completed, Close the command prompt window.

You get this message when you try to run SFC? Are they any accounts on this computer?
Did you try running MBAM in Safe Mode?

OK I finally was able to scan MBAM in safe mode. It detected 31 infections. Now when I start up again my McAfee detects Trojans and has me shut down so it can be fixed. This is the third time this has happened. I will try and get the logs for the MBAM and the Command Prompt SFC /scannow over to you tomorrow when I can spend more time working on this issue. Thanks for your help and goodnight!

Most of the time Vista has a Recovery on a separate part of your harddrive usually the D drive. Do you have that?

descriptionDownloaded Application.........Many windows popped open - Page 2 EmptyRe: Downloaded Application.........Many windows popped open

I do not have a D drive. I just scanned with my McAfee Total Protection 2014 again and had 213 trojans with 175 fixed. My issues now are:
1.) McAfee Virus and Spyware Protection is off and it does not allow me to turn it back on.
2.) MBAM gives me a message: Windows cannot find C:\ProgramFiles\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbam.exe. Make sure you typed the name correctly, then try again.
3.) Still have Trojans that need to be fixed.
4.) CBS log states Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
5.) ESET Scanner: Able to scan in Safemode and the scan is below. Hooray! After this scan it seems the internet is a lot better. I am just concerned with my McAfee AV not working.
