My apologies for any delay, as Superdave can be busy in the malware removal forums. Nonetheless, we are now redoing the site and trying to revamp it, so that more people can be served soon and promptly!
As for the issue...
I would like you to download a tool (this is experimental)...
This will not erase any data, but it queries information about your USB devices, so please make sure to plug in the problem USB device before running this tool.
For Windows 32-bit edition: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usbdeview.zip
For Windows 64-bit edition: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usbdeview-x64.zip
Note: If you are not sure which one, please download the 32-bit edition for now.
Please do the following once you download it:
- Right click on it and select "Extract all..."
- Once done, open the folder of extracted files and double-click "USBDeview.exe"
- At the top, press the Options menu, and click on Display Devices without drivers.
- Press the View menu, and select HTML Report-All Items.
- It will either open in a browser window, or prompt you to open it. Just press cancel.
- Find the folder called USBDeview on the Desktop (exactly how you opened USBDeview.exe), and upload report.html here on the forum please to your next post.
- Once you've uploaded the file, you can exit the program.
Reminder: Please attach "Report.html" to your next post.
