MBAM doesn't seem to know why this occurs.
Let's do some cleanup.

Click Start> Computer> right click the C Drive and choose Properties> enter
Click Disk Cleanup from there.

Click OK on the Disk Cleanup Screen.
Click Yes on the Confirmation screen.

This runs the Disk Cleanup utility along with other selections if you have chosen any. (if you had a lot System Restore points, you will see a significant change in the free space in C drive)

Thank you for the info...

Disk Cleanup had just a small amount of temp files to clean up.

Windows is up to date.

WOT is already installed.

I installed comodo firewall. Do I turn off the windows firewall??

I already have avast antivirus.

I've done a lot of what is mentioned in the two pages you sent. Seems like I may need to switch to a different antimalware. Do you have a recommendation that works well with avast, comodo and win 8??

Yes, turn it off.

Windows Defender has its own built-in anti-malware program but if you're using Avast I would recommend MBAM. But, since you can't run it, I guess that's out of the question. I would suggest you try to go to a MBAM forum where you can pose the question as to why it won't work for you. From what I understand, you're not the only person with that problem. I'm using Emisoft anti-malware but it's a program that was given to me. If you can't get MBAM working, you should return to Windows Defender.
