Do you have an XP CD?

If so, place it in your CD ROM drive and follow the instructions below:
•Click on Start > Run and type sfc /scannow then press Enter (note the space between scf and /scannow)
*Let this run undisturbed until the window with the blue progress bar goes away
SFC - Which stands for System File Checker, retrieves the correct version of the file from %Systemroot%\System32\Dllcache or the Windows installation source files, and then replaces the incorrect file.

i dont have the cd. i bought it second hand and it didnt come with anything.

i ran the SFC. still getting BSOD when starting normally.

Is this a legal version of Windows? Do you have the product codes? They should be attached to the outside of your computer somewhere. Have you been receiving your Windows updates?

You would not get updates if it was illegal. Your profile shows that you're running Windows XP but other information reveals that it is Windows 7. Which OS do you have? Updates for XP has been discontinued.
Some of the reasons you're getting BSOD is because of some system files and others are caused by hardware. Did you do anything to the computer before this started?

Its running windows 7.
-Actually come to think of it, it did have XP on it when I first got it but it crashed while I was in China and my wife took it to a store there to get fixed and when it came back it had win7 and the drive was partitioned.

I was using it as a media server and one day when I turned it on it just went BSOD.

It's possible that your computer has the Recovery console installed. You can see how to access it here.
Most BSOD's are usually caused by a hardware problem but it your computer there are two indications that it's caused by hardware and software. Here are some clues:

This indicates that it has something to do with your LAN Network card. You can find a possible fix here.
