Hello all-
Recently I tried to install automatic updates from the windows update tool and have ran into the following issues noted in the topic of this post. The automatic install of latest security update was 3-4 days ago (Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool - November 2013 (KB890830). Now the windows update icon appears in the notification area of the task bar stating "Window's can't check for updates". Upon clicking on the icon to check for updates, the process is unsuccessful with the following error code: 80070490
Tried to perform a "repair install" from the factory reinstallation DVD. All went well until the option to choose the Upgrade option. It was not available to click and a message stated that the "upgrade function has been disabled".
Now I'm concerned that there may be either Malware or virus infection or possibly something else. I'll post logs of scans very soon after this post.
Thanks!!!
