Earlier today I was using my machine just fine the Internet was working great. I put it in sleep mode and went out for a couple hours. I came back and now I can't connect to the internet via wireless network. If I plug in using and ethernet cord it works perfectly, like a charm.

I've gone through countless threads on this forum and others trying to fix the issue but no luck yet.

I've gotten to the point where I discovered that I am using Intel PROSet/Wireless Tools and when I run the diagnose I pass; Hardware test, Driver Test, Radio Test, Scan Test then I fail at Associate Test. I can view my wireless network connection and it has four of four bars. But I can't connect.

My machine: HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC
Windows 7
Intel Core I7-2670QM CPU @ 2.20 GHz
64-bit Operating system
Network Adapter: Intel(R) Wiring Link 1000 BGN

I searched and found this on intel website:
Association Test
The association test checks for Wi-Fi connectivity. Association is the establishment and maintenance of the Wi-Fi link between devices. When security is enabled, the devices only exchange security credentials. The test will fail if the client is not associated successfully.

Run the signal test.
Verify that a profile has been created.
Verify that the profile SSID matches the access point network name (SSID).
Remove the existing profile and create a new profile.
Verify that your Wi-Fi network is not included in the list of excluded profiles.
Verify that the MAC address has not been excluded in the access point.

But I'm not that tech savvy so I have no idea what it means or how to do it.

Any ides or help would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Ryan

I was able to fix it by removing all my profiles and creating a new one.

By following this:

1. Click Start and select Control Panel.

2. Open Network and Sharing Center.

3. Click Manage Wireless Networks.

4. Remove all wireless network listed in this list.

5. Restart computer and reconnect to your wireless network.
