Not even sure where to start.

Have two users on the computer. My wife's display keeps coming up with the Microsoft Security Essentials Alert. I was able to run the
Malwarebytes and it came up with 767 infections. First one was a trojon. I removed them and rebooted. No luck they came back. Also task Manager is unavailable. Also transfered RKILL from flash drive and tried to run it but it comes up with Pev.rk.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. I tried all three verisons of these and got the same thing. I am unable to access safemode under my wife since she is set to limit on he account.

My account is the main one but when I try to boot up on mine i get the ThinkPoint program. This also comes up in safemode and can do nothing about it. Tried to get taskmanager but no luck in normal or safemode.

The other thing i read is about logging on in safe mode using Adminastrator but problem is that I forgot password.

So that is where I am at and need your help if you can provide.

Thanks Ron

OK was able to get the password for Adminstrator and boot up in safe mode. Reran RKill under Adminstrator. Updated Malwarebytes and in the process of scanning the computer.

Task Manager works under the admin login. Not sure where to go from here.

So the scan helped with the RKILL in safemode. Just ran combo fix and it took care of a few more Spamware. Looks like i am almost back to normal

Hello.

Download OTL by OldTimer to your Desktop.

  • Close all windows and double click OTL.exe
  • Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted
  • It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.
  • You may need to use two posts to get it all.
