Can't remove some log files

I'm in the process of cleaning out my .log files and have run across some problems. In particular, I have 4 files that I will list below:

MSS.log 1,024 kb
MSS000Ca.log 1,024 kb
MSS000CB.log 1,024 kb
MSStmp.log 0 kb

I get the message when I try to delete them: Action can't be completed because the file is open in Winodws Search." I followed the path probided and found the log files, tried to delete from there and got the same message. I then went to the registry editor and no files were found.

How do I get rid of the undeletablefiles? All help will be appreciated.

The only way to delete them is to stop the Windows Search Service.

Otherwise, they are necessary for Windows Search to work on your computer...particularly in Windows 7.
