I have a Dell Inspiron laptop that is about 2 years old. Today when I powered up the system, I received an error message: Internal hard disk drive not found, to resolve this issue, try to reseat the drive. No bootable devices--strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility Press F5 to run onboard diganostics.
I tried reseating the drive, no change. I ran the onboard diagnostics, and I get a Hard Drive DST short test error. "Test Results - Warning Msg, hard drive, no hard drive detected."
There was no warning before this happened, so I guess my question is: What is the most likely culprit? Hard drive failure, motherboard?
The computer is well taken care of.
Thanks!
