Wireless Mouse wont install

Hi
I purchased a wireless mouse several weeks ago,I plugged it in and it worked for 20minutes then stopped working and i never managed to get it working again,so i took it back today and got a B.C.L optical wireless mouse,

I connected the reciever to my laptops usb port and it keeps popping up saying usb device unrecognised,
I have tryed all usb ports on my laptop,i have tryed restarting my laptop,i have tryed device manager updating drivers etc but nothing works,Ive changed the batterys even tho these are brand new batterys.

I plugged the wireless mouse reciever in to my partners laptop and it instantly picked it up and installed it within seconds and worked fine.

In device manager it just shows up as unknown device.
I would really appreciate any help to get this mouse to work,

first of all describe what operating system your computer has, and what OS your partner's laptop has as well. if one OS is different from the other, it could be that the mouse doesn't have the required driver ready to install upon plugging it into your computer. what you want to do next is go the wireless mouse's website and do a driver search by mouse model and operating system.

We are both on windows 7
and it is a B.C.L mouse i have tryed looking for a website but cant find one.

with that said you only have to options, 1) gift it to your friend so he/she can make wise use of it or 2) return it or exchange it for an OEM one
