Am currently using PassSafe (from SourceForge) ... but am looking for something I can use to access my passwords when not at home (retired - so work not a problem). Have seen good reports for Last Pass - a cloud based password manager ... but am reluctant to put my passwords on the Internet.

Any thoughts?

Last Pass is very safe. Used for years by many experts.

Their Privacy Statement guards you very well (so you have advantage in court if something happens to any of your passwords/data):

We don't allow you to send LastPass critically important information like your usernames, passwords, account notes, and LastPass master password; instead your LastPass master password is used locally to encrypt the important data that's sent to us so that no one, including LastPass employees ever can access it.
We don't ask you for personal information unless we truly need it.
We don't share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, develop our products, or protect our rights.
We don't store personal information on our servers unless required for the on-going operation of one of our services. (For example: If you choose to store login history, we keep login history, if you choose not to, we don't)

Thank y'all

Based on all the comments I have switched from PassWord Safe. It has not been a real smooth transition. Had 100+ 'groups' of passwords saved in PsWdSaf (some contained several URL/pswd entries - some only 1). When I used LP's tool to automatically convert to LP - I ran into many dropped/missing pswds.

BIG FORTUNATE: I still had PsWdSaf installed ... good thing as follows:

While the majority of 'groups' were converted (but NOT all - good thing above), unfortunately not all 'groups' were fully populated. Some ended up missing several URL/pswd entries - some only 1. I had to manually edit the initial .XML file (containing all the pswd entries) to have only the 'groups' that were missing completely, or had missing entries, added. In some cases it was easier to just 'add' individual groups-URL/pswd entries without reverting to XML editing.
LP support was responsive (though it took a while to explain/believe the problem) and I expect a solution ... it may help future 'converters' but mine is done now.

Bottom line: LP is 'set up' on my PC and I've already seen benefits.

Thanks again for your comments.
