OMG, I am an idiot. I freakin saved the wrong report. Since it doesn't save itself and deletes after it runs I don't think I can get it back. There were four of them. Smile... 3 backdoor something and a trojan..... UGH, sorry. Do you want me to run it again?

(not like running it again would do anything since I deleted the things it found.) Grrrr....

Sorry. I check this site at least three times a day but I missed your response.

There were four of them. 3 backdoor something and a trojan..... UGH, sorry. Do you want me to run it again?.

Yes please. That Backdoor thing doesn't sound good.

Ok. Good news, I guess. I ran it again and it didn't find anything this time, so deleting it worked. Smile...

I should note that I just tried opening programs in 'regular' mode (ie not in safe mode) and I am able to do so. I am really leary though, as just a little while ago everything was saying "illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion". I can only guess that Kaspersky got what was causing that issue. Should I continue in safe mode or is it ok to be in the normal area?

Please continue in Normal mode unless I request something else.

Download Security Check by screen317 from one of the following links and save it to your desktop.

Link 1
Link 2

* Double-click Security Check.bat
* Follow the on-screen instructions inside of the black box.
* A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt
* Post the contents of that document in your next reply.

Note: If a security program requests permission from dig.exe to access the Internet, allow it to do so.
**********************************************************
Please download Rooter and Save it to your desktop.

  • Double click it to start the tool.Vista and Windows7 run as administrator.
  • Click Scan.
  • Eventually, a Notepad file containing the report will open, also found at C:\Rooter.txt. Post that log in your next reply.

Just to let you know, both the Security check and Rooter said, "the publisher of *each* (security check or rooter) couldn't be verified." I closed that window.

Please give me an update about your computer.

Update Your Java (JRE)

Old versions of Java have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system.

First Verify your Java Version

If there are any other version(s) installed then update now.

Get the new version (if needed)

If your version is out of date install the newest version of the Sun Java Runtime Environment.

Note: UNCHECK any pre-checked toolbar and/or software offered with the Java update. The pre-checked toolbars/software are not part of the Java update.

Be sure to close ALL open web browsers before starting the installation.

Remove any old versions

1. Download JavaRa and unzip the file to your Desktop.
2. Open JavaRA.exe and choose Remove Older Versions
3. Once complete exit JavaRA.

Additional Note: The Java Quick Starter (JQS.exe) adds a service to improve the initial startup time of Java applets and applications. To disable the JQS service if you don't want to use it, go to Start > Control Panel > Java > Advanced > Miscellaneous and uncheck the box for Java Quick Starter. Click OK and reboot your computer.

•Check the box next to Enable thorough system inspection.

•Click Start
