Hello,

I recently downloaded a f4v file and none of my media players will play it. I have Windows Media Player 11, VLC Media PLayer, Adobe Flash player all on my machine. I am running Windows XP Professional OS.

What free "trusted" player do you recommend I download?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi EricJ,
I suggest you to first to download KLite Codec pack from link bellow.

Flash Player should be able to run .flv video, but you can use some other software too. Visit this link :

F4V format is compatible with most operating systems via the Adobe Flash Player and web browser plug-in. What if you want to play F4V videos directly on Mac or Windows as well as most popular software like iTunes, QuickTime, PowerPoint, etc without Adobe Flash Player and any plug-in installation? What if you want to watch F4V movies on Apple's iOS devices, Android phones and tablets, BlackBerry, etc?

In these cases, you'd better to convert F4V to MP4 format which is one of the most common and popular format nowadays with Faasoft F4V to MP4 Converter. Once the F4V to MP4 conversion is done, it becomes true to enjoy F4V files widely without any limitation.

try renaming extension to .mp4 , use kmplayer which should be able to play most, or re-wrap them into mp4 with yamb or ffmpeg

you may need to install a newer mp4 splitter (source filter)
