Here is the message I have after startup on my Dell Inspiron Mini 10. I am unable to do anything, but in safe mode. Please advise.

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in the stop message, disable or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video adapters.

Check with you hardward vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, etc.

Tech. information:

*** Stop: 0x0000008E (0x0000005, 0xf745071D, 0x9DAC2748, 0x00000000)

*** atapi.sys - Address F745071D base at F7446000, DateStamp 4802539d

Beginning dump of physical memory, etc.

It just might that your atapi.sys is infected by a virus or malware, you might try to run a program such as Hitman Pro (free for 30 days) or Spybot Search and Destroy (free). try to back up your important files to an external disk, if you can, before running one of these programs.

Good Luck.
