Acer Travelmate 8100 wont start up

I have an Acer Travelmate 8100 that just last night while my son was using it froze then turned off; currently when attempting to turn the unit back on, the power button will turn green you hear it start for like 3seconds and thats it, screen remains black no other lights come on (blue tooth, Wi-Fi) nothing.

Sounds like the power unit or motherboard might have a issue. Sometimes the CPU is dead.

Try this first:

Check to see if plug cord is ok and charging battery
Re-Seat the Memory or Ram
Connect laptop to a VGA Monitor via cable see if you can get a screen.
Pull out hard drive and replace with new one (Hope you have restore disk)
