ethernet drivers and usb2

Hello guys i was on the malware forum for a few weeks with a pc that was beyond cleaning. So i bit the bullit and re formated the hard drive, fortunatly for me the system is an IBM with lenovo back up so a few clicks later and my system was empty but clean and a fresh xp install to boot!!! The problem is i cannot connect to the net as the driver is missing for the broadcom ethernet and the usb2. I am using a doner pc at present so i managed to find the drivers via the net unzipped and burnt to a CD-r and also a memory stick altho the stick was no good due to the usb2 not functioning. I tried to update via the hardware installer but im having no luck, computer says noooooooo. Any simple solution would be great ?? many thanks Dave in the uk...

So did the CD drive allow you to access the drivers?

What is the model number of the laptop?

download driver fetch and save the results... downloading the specific drivers from a system to has internet!

Sir Swats program may be the best way to go. I Googled the type you listed and didn't find anything concrete. Even IBM's site didn't really give the clear path to a driver i was expecting. Is there another name on the computer like "ThinkCenter C52" or something of that nature?

Oh im having not much luck with this, i downloaded driver fetch into a CD ran it on the pc that needs the drivers, made a log then wanted to burn it back to the cd so i could open it on the net pc but it doent have a floppy or a cd-r drive and i cant use my flash stick as the usb2 driver is missing so wont run grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I do belive i have the drivers the correct ones on a cd that i found on the net and burned but its getting them into the machine thats the problem system manager wont read from the cd ????
