When do you get this message? Is it before the Windows is loading screen?

What exactly is the error message?

The MAC address is the hardwired address on your network card. Every network card has a uniques MAC which identifies it physically.

I've read where flashing the BIOS can cause this problem.

The only thing I can say is that if you have a PCI network card, reseat or replace it as it might be bad.

If you didn't flash the BIOS and now you're getting the error for no reason at all, I suspect a system board problem.

Hopefully someone else will have a better idea.

It's not the same, but it's telling me that you had some other problem that you tried to fix. What prompted you to take out the BIOS battery?
