After looking online to see just what this "MS removal tool " was, yahoo listed your websight as the best to help someone like me who is slightly computer stupid. I read the new member instructions which said not to follow what other members say to do so i thought i would try to post to find out the right route to take. I restarted mt computer in safe mode and then rebooted my pc back to a previous date and it has stoped it for now but i am guessing it is still lingering in the background waiting to pounce again so i would love to evict it from my pc forever if possible. Could you please direct me to the correct removal tool ? Thanks for your time !

Hi Teresa and Welcome to GeekPolice!

We need to look at some information about what is going on in your computer:

Please perform the following scan:

  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.

    • DDS.scr
    • DDS.pif

  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explanation about the tool.
  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs
    1. DDS.txt
    2. Attach.txt
  • Save both reports to your desktop.
  • The instructions here ask you to attach the Attach.txt.
Help please, i have the "fake MS removal tool" virus on my pc DDS

  • Instead of attaching, please copy/past both logs into your Thread

  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run.
After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection.
Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.
Information on A/V control HEREThen post your DDS (DDS.txt and Attach.txt

Hi Kenny94, I was giving the pc some time to see if it seemed to be running any differently. the only thing odd i have noticed is occasionaly it seems to freeze for a few seconds with the blue circle where my curser is. i have never had that happen before. Other than that it seemd to be ok. I have done everything you have said to do so far, i also have run my norton twice and it hasnt picked up anything, but it didnt pick up what happend with the ms virus to begin with.Thank you so much for all your help so far, i would be lost without my daily farmville fix.
