Touch pad not working

I didn't find any related topics but if there is one, don't get mad, I'm a newbie... ;) And a girl.
So, I've got a problem with my laptop. It's Acer emachines E725, I bought it a year ago and everything was fine till now. A couple of days ago Windows 7 started downloading lots of updates and at some point my touch pad stopped working. Well, maybe it has nothing to do with those updates but I had no other explanation.

I didn't spill any liquids on the laptop, I didn't play football with it. Windows shows that the touch pad is working normally. The guarantee is still valid but maybe there's nothing big to deal with. Did anyone have the same problem? Any ideas how to fix it?
