This guide will give you easy instructions on how to remove Antivira Av for free.

What is Antivira Av? (Information)

Antivira Av is a fake security software which uses fraudulent strategies by displaying false or exaggerated security issues on your computer rather than any legitimate ones to coerce you into purchasing their software.

Antivira Av will displays bogus warning messages, telling you that your computer is infected. It uses misleading methods to win your trust and make you actually believe your computer is compromised with viruses, spyware or trojans. Antivira Av will later suggest that you purchase a copy of it to remove the infections as part of their scam. Their bogus antispyware or antivirus database is totally incapable of performing any removal of viruses or other declared functions.

Follow these preparation steps:

Because Antivira Av sets your browser to use an invalid proxy, you will not be able to surf any websites.

If you are using Internet Explorer, click on the Tools menu and select Internet Options.

  • Now click on the Connections tab and then the Lan Settings button.
  • Under the Proxy Server section, please uncheck the checkbox labeled Use a proxy server for your LAN.
  • Click the OK button. Then press the Apply button and then the OK button. Now that you have disabled the proxy server you will be able to browse the web again with Internet Explorer.

If you are using Firefox, click on Tools and click the Advanced tab.

  • Go to the Network tab and select Settings.
  • Select No proxy and click the OK button and click OK again. Now that you have disabled the proxy server you will be able to browse the web again with Firefox.

Follow these instructions:

You have to start computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:

  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, keep tapping F8.
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode with Networking.

You guys are totally awesome! Became infected with this malware and was hesitant to try your process due to the downloading of an anti-malware program that I wasn't familiar with. I took the risk though, and glad I did. Everything is cleared up! I reset my internet settings after the removal and everything seems to be back in good health. Honestly can't thank you guys enough.

I had found other solutions but they involved manually going through the registry and deleting which is something I am not even remotely ready for.

Thanks again to those who found the method. Cheers.

You people are just plain awesome!

Question though - now that I am up and running clean again - do I have to go back and change back my
proxy server or whatever I did in the first step?

To help a few other non geeks out there who have this frustrating "hard to get rid of" darn virus;

1. F8, F2, or F12 didn't work for me to getting to safe mode. I just turned my computer off without powering down and then repressed button to turn on again - That brought screen up where it gives option to start in
"Safe mode with networking"

2. Follow above instructions to uncheck proxy server

3. If you have installed - try using your own installed antivirus program first ; doing same directions as above but
with your already installed ativirus program...

- open it up and FIRST do an Install Updates. make sure you install them if there are new ones to do so!
When done - NOW run full scan.

4. When done scanning -click on "fix problems" or whatever it directs you to do with found viruses.

5. restart/reboot computer like you normally do - IT WORKS!
Stupid antivira-AV virus and icon and all pop-ups were gone!

Thanks thanks thanks - I learn so much from you and you saved me a lot of money and frustration!.
P.S. Have I said thanks enough? One more time - Thank you - you made a difference in my life today.
