can't get to microsoft update and broswer appears hijacked

Good morning.
I am running IE8 on a Win XP Pro SP3 pc and i am experiencing two difficulties at the moment. First, i can't get to the Windows Update page to perform any updates. Second, when i hit the "back" button on the browser, it does not take me to the prior page but opens random BS pages.
I checked all my IE settings, they are OK, but something is wrong somewhere!
Please help?

Hello.

Download OTL by OldTimer to your Desktop.

• Close all windows and double click OTL.exe
  
• Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted
  
• It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.
  
• You may need to use two posts to get it all.
