freeze

Help, can anyone tell me why my computer freezes and the only way of getting back in is to turn off and on again nothing else works!!. As I am new to computers I have been told that switching off this way can damage your computer. Thanks.

it could be because your ram is over heating or... maybe virus or not just depends is your computer on for long period of time before it freezes or randomly?

You must check your pc for viruses first on the malware removal area. If you are declared clean from there, post again here.

Hi techno4229, computer is swiched on and after five mins freezes, I turn of then on and alls ok for the rest of the day.

Post your startup items, go to start>run (or press win key+R) and type msconfig and browse to the startup tab.

Also, go to right click computer>properties>advanced system settings>click settings under performance option>data execution prevention, make sure the first option is checked.
