CD-ROM/DVD not detected

Hello

I came across this site when i had this problem and hoping you guys can help me
My problem is that, im using a Compaq laptop and my CD/DVD ROM is not being detected by my system
BUT...
There is still power coming from it, as i can still open and close the CD ROM when i want it to open/close

I checked the website, i came across of deleting the upper and lower files or something like that
When i got to the file, there were no upper and lower files

I hope you guys can help me revive my CD/DVD driver ><

It will run a diagnostic to tell you why you cannot play media, etc.

Let me know what it says in the diagnostic.
