JPG to JPEG conversion

I have a bunch of pictures on my hard drive that it says are in Windows Media Player JPG format. I want to put them on a disc so that I can play them on my TV as a slideshow. My DVR manual says they must be in JPEG format to play on DVD player. I can't seem to find a way to do this (preferably free). If you can help it will be greatly appreciated. I am using Vista

I don't know if it works on vista but give it a try. Open the image with paint and then go file>save as>and save it as JPEG format.
