I would like to share my non network printes over my network of 3 computers. Is it necessary that the printer must be network capable? Or is there a special setup to enable this?

It doesn't have to be a special 'network' printer.....almost any old hack of a printer can be shared over any network, be it a home or office setup.

You havent given me much info to go on but Im going to asssume you have your own home WLAN (wireless local area network) with 2 or more computers running Windows Vista (going by your profiled OS) or perhaps a mixture of Vista and XP?

Its actually dead easy.....firstly determine which computer on your network you would like to physically hook the printer up too (via USB cable).
Once you have installed the printer on that computer, all you need to do is configure a few settings so that you can share this printer among all the others on the LAN.
Windows Vista and XP don't automatically share printers, which is a good thing when you don't want to share your toys.

To share the printer using XP

Just open the Printers and Faxes folder on the computer that was connected to the printer.

To open the Printers and Faxes folder

Click Start and then click Control Panel.

Click Printers and Other Hardware, and then click Printers and Faxes.

In the Printers and Faxes folder, click the printer's icon and, in the tasks pane, click 'Share This Printer'.

open the printer's Properties dialog box, and click on the 'Sharing' tab.

click Share Name, and then click OK.

That's it—the printer should be immediately available for other computers to use.

Now that you have a network printer, you are ready to connect to it and print from other computers on the network.

To connect to the printer

open Control Panel, and click 'Printers and Other Hardware'.

click Add a Printer.

Instead of adding a local printer, though, click 'Printer Connection' and then browse the network for the printer.

To share a printer attached to your computer Using Vista

Open Network and Sharing Center by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Network and Internet, and then clicking Network and Sharing Center.

Click the arrow button Picture of the arrow button next to Printer sharing to expand the section, click Turn on printer sharing, and then click Apply. Your printer is now shared on the network. Administrator permission required If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

If you are using a computer connected to a workgroup, click the arrow button Picture of the arrow button next to Password protected sharing to expand this section, and then check to see if password-protected sharing is turned on or off. If it is turned on, only people with a user account and password for this computer will be able to access your printer. Turn this off if you want anyone on the network to be able to access the printer you are sharing. To change this setting, select the option you prefer, and then click Apply. Administrator permission required If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
