Java 1723 issue

I'm unable to uninstall my java program and reinstall a fresh version. I can't use Acrobat Reader, Vuze or PS3 Media Server. Every time I attempt this I get the "Error 1723 There is a problem with this Windows Installer package" window. How can I get rid of the files that are preventing me from installing a fresh Java version? Not a newer version, just a fresh one that will work! I'm using Windows 7 Starter.

Hi, please use Windows Installation Clean-Up Utility to remove your Java installations.

Thanks for the info, but $70, yikes! I was hoping to be able to do the task without incurring any expenses... 'hoping' being the operative word.

I can't download torrents because vuze is one of the programs affected by the corrupt java. :sad:

Totally get it regarding your p2p policy. The issue I'm having is with that darned java! I can't uninstall it with any of the programs I've tried, nor can I install a fresh java program. Nothing but the hated 1723 window.

Thanks Nazgull, but didn't work. I'm about fried by this one, you'd think this goofy 1723 issue would be more prevalent than it is. Tough nut to crack this one!

Okay, please go to Start > Run > In Run windows please type next command and press Enter :
msiexec /unreg

Now, please go to same Run window, type and press Enter :
msiexec /regserver

Click Start > All Programs > Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator.
In Command prompt, please type next command to scan your Windows system for problems :
SFC /scannow

Let me know results.
