Loud Fan

'Tis been a while but the fan in my CPU becomes loud when playing videos/games. When I had cleaned the inside I accidentally wiped off some of the thermal grease. Would this be the problem? Do I just need to buy some thermal grease? Or is it something else?

Hi,
You must have thermal paste on your processor, it's very important for normally work of your computer. Fan is maybe old, and you can anytime change it, visit some PC Shop and buy a new one, it's cheap.

Thanks Nazzgull. Found a $5 thermal paste, will experiment for a while and see if it works.

That's nice price for paste. Okay, let me know results. If your fun is still loud, just change it. They are made of plastic and don't have a long life, nothing special.
