Hello! I guess I'm just like all of the others here with the Thinkpoint issues. I followed most guides online (Pertaining to downloading that Anti-Malware software and running it.) and it seems to have worked, besides the fact that... I can't get online. At all.

Originally, I was able to connect on safe mode in order to update the Anti-Malware software, which worked pretty well in removing most of the problems. But! After I followed the guides to update Java/Remove Adobe Reader, I was not able to connect whatsoever. On every browser, it tells me that it "Cannot Connect to Proxy Server. Access Denied." and nothing can seemingly connect to the internet. I also attempted to change my internet settings so that it did not use a Proxy under the LAN settings, but every time I click OK on everything and restart, it comes right back on. Currently I am lurking these forums on my older Mac laptop, going back and fourth between machines to figure out the problem.

I am running Windows 7 64bit. Please help!

(Also, if it means anything, I connect/have connected to the internet using a Ethernet Cable from my Laptop to PC until now. ) I can supply a log if needed!

EDIT: I took a moment and realized, oddly enough, I can ping websites. I can send a ping to a website IP and it's domain and get a response, but nothing else seems to be in working order.

EDIT 2: I looked up the issue all morning and somehow managed to get IE to work and get online, despite all of my other browsers giving the Proxy issue. (Chrome, Firefox and Opera.) IE said it was an issue in Windows Firewall when I ran the diagnostic tools, but the other browsers and any other programs that use the Internet (IM clients, iTunes, etc) Still won't connect.

EDIT 3: (Oh god, sorry for so many edits.) Turning off Windows Firewall totally lets my IM clients and programs such as iTunes connect, but browsers are still odd. The configuration on my Windows Firewall was never changed until now.

Hello.

Download OTL by OldTimer to your Desktop.

  • Close all windows and double click OTL.exe
  • Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted
  • It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.
  • You may need to use two posts to get it all.
