I loaded the Malware but when I try to launch the program I get errors:

Run Time Error "0"
Run Time Error "440"

It appears that the virus block the program from launching. I tried launching from a zip drive too. No luck.

Any ideas?

I downloaded the MalwareBytes program however it wasn't able to get rid of the virus. I solved the problem of not being able to open Anti-Virus programs by forcing them to open as Administrator in Vista, so hopefully Avast! will do the trick.

Additionally the manual removal tips are not applicable in Vista as files have been renamed and no longer work in the same way. Even after going through the registry manually not one of the associated registry keys were present.

****UPDATE****

At least one of the files associated with the virus are hiding the following folder under "av.exe"

C:\[username]\AppData\Local

In order to remove the file open the folder then click on the Tools option on the taskbar, then click on folder options, go into the Advanced Settings on the View page and click on:
Show hȋdden files and folders
Hide protected operating system files

Having located the file open the Windows Task Manager, go to the processes and search for "av.exe" and shut down the process. Then delete av.exe using a secure method of deletion I would suggest using Systweak's - Advanced Systems Optimizer.

I was infected TERRIBLY with this. Fortunetly i had 2 user accounts on my computer. Mine and my sons. Downfall was i set myself up as administrator. His account wasnt infected only mine...but i was not able to install any dl on sons account due to no administrator rights ( i will never make this mistake again btw) So i had to go in to safe mode..after multiple attempts it finally worked. I then followed StEP BY STEP everything listed above. TY SOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT WORKED! That malwarebytes i have purchased and really is an incredible software. The full system scan is unlike any other computer scan i have ever encountered!
