Modem- No Dial Tone

Hey, I tired dialing up today and I got this error from my modem - No dial tone.

However, there is a dial tone. I connected my phone line to another pc (the one im using right now) and was able to dial up.

What can be the problem plz??

You may just have a bad modem. If you connect your telephone into the second slot (One should be for the phone line - the other should be available for a phone) Do you hear a dial tone. If not, I would bet lightning got you. I have had it happen to me in the past.

i did get lightning the other night....
