Please can anyone help me.

I have downloaded a music file onto my memory stick which I would like to delete however when I try to delete the file I keep having a message " THE FILE NAME YOU SPECIFIED IS NOT VALID OR TO LONG It won't let me rename it or delete it. I don't really want to put the file onto my computer in case it is corrupt.
