HI,
I am having a problem booting up my Toshiba Equium laptop. I run WIndows 7 and it had been working earlier today but when I got home from work and tried to boot it up, it displays themessage "Error Loading Opperating System" on a black screen. I have a copy of Windows 7 handy and put it in, tried to reinstall it but it seems the only option is to reinstall it at the cost of losing all my files, some of which are very important.
I'm not certain if this is a hardware or software error however the laptop is 3 years old now and has seen heavy use so i fear there is something wrong with the hardware.
I managed to get this through the startup repair using the Windows 7 DVD (which didn't work obviously )

Is there a way to fix this without losing the files?
thanks
