Hello. i am new here. I have come her because regularly when I am on a web page and connected to the web already if I click on a link in any of the three browsers I get a message that the server is not available. I use a dell wireless system to connect to my DSL system. I have service on the three others computers in my home ( all wireless) only I have this difficulty . I have moved the wireless router to a closer position to my computer. I have run diagnostics and once connected there are supposedly no problems. I contacted Dell. They said all was well. Norton says all is well when they connect. The telephone DSL providers ran test and say all is well. My computer always indicates I am connected and getting a good signal with very little noise. And yet regularly I cannot connect to a new link. All the differing agencies say my computer and router are fine. But something is not. This system is less than three months old. I have been having trouble with this since I got it, intermittently. I don't know what else to try . Suggestions anyone.

Lets try with this, just follow next steps:

  • Open CMD, Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults by typing: netsh winsock reset catalog
  • Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults by typing: netsh int ip reset reset.log
  • Restart your PC.
If it doesn't work, download Winsock XP Fix from here, save it to your Desktop.
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html

  • Double click on the exe on your Desktop.
  • Press the "Fix" button, then restart again.
See if you can visit Web pages now.
