My inlaws are running a Dell PC with Win Vista and NOD32. They have an infection of AV Security Suite. I checked the NOD32 update and it is the most current release, a bit irritated that the infection got past. I read through various posts and pages and found several references to manual removal and registry edits. Booted in safe mode with networking. Removed the browser proxy settings but when I looked for the Documents and Settings folder it was not there. I disabled the network card and ran Malwarebytes last night, was running when I left their house. Will return this afternoon to see what the results are. My main concern is that I am running the same NOD32 on my laptop and home PC, if this program won't stop viruses what would be a better choice?

Seems as if it got past NOD32, because it was installed by choice, instead of accidentally.
