Hi:

I just finished working with DragonMaster Jay on removing Trojans and Backdoor Bots from my computer. I appreciate and value DragonMaster Jay's assistance.

With a new Restore Point, an updated Adobe Reader and a disk clean up I feel I am off to a nice new start. However, DragaonMaster Jay suggested that I post for help in the Tech Forum because my computer is running slow. This slowness is new since the removal of the Trojans and Backdoor Bots. The slowness is a freeze often times and I also get the words next to something I may be doing: Not Responding. I wait a minute or two and suddenly the program begins to work. It is as if my computer is now off by two beats in everything I do. I ask an internet page to open and get frustrated when it does not pop up so I ask a second time and get the Not Responding words. Prior to this Trojan and Backdoor Bot experience my computer was running great.

I am running Windows XP with service pack #3. All items are up to date including the most recent items from Microsoft just released on 04/17/10. I also have Mbam, Spy Bot, Advanced Disk Cleaner, CCleaner, Spy Blaster, Malicious Removal, Windows Defender, AVG, Super Anti Spyware, Baseline Security Analyzer and Advanced System Care and Super Anti Spyware.

Any assistance would be appreciated on this,
Karen

Hello,

You seem to have lots of security programs running, it may be the ones behind the problem. Does any of the anti-spywares provide real-time protection?

Hello Dr. Inferno:

I am not certain. I think that the Spy Bot Search and Destroy application does. On October 29, 2009, Belazar on the Malware area told me to stop the Tea Timer in Spy Bot. We were doing a Hijack This fix and I was told to disable the Tea Timer. I just looked today, 04/28/10 and Tea Timer is still disabled. Do you want me to enable it again?

I do not know which of my programs for security and such are good ones. No one has ever told me to get rid of any of them. I assume they are all good programs because they are trusted programs.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks,
Karen
