My laptop was infected with the Digital Protection virus a few hours ago. I found your guide and followed the instructions, and the Malwarebytes scan did remove the infected files. However, whenever I log on normally, I still get the same false messages I was receiving before about someone trying to steal my passwords and such. I still can't turn my firewall, etc. functions back on, either. I came back to safe mode and checked Task Manager, but I didn't see digprot.exe or ave.exe. Is there something I missed?

Sorry to break the rules and double-post, but I have an update. Now I'm even more confused. I turned my laptop off for the night, but when I logged back on just now, it's as if nothing happened (other than the fact that I'm missing a few programs that used to show up on my desktop, but they must not have been important because I can't even remember what they were. The important ones are still there.) I didn't get anymore warnings, and I was able to go back in and turn my firewall back on. I guess this means everything's all right, but then again, I'm not that computer savvy, so whether you think something else is going on or you think I'm all clear, please let me know. Thanks!
