Adobe will release the next major version of its Creative Suite collection of applications for print, Web, and video creative pros on April 12. The company announced plans to take the wraps of Adobe Creative Suite 5 on Tuesday in order to give its customers a chance to register for the online launch event.

That event will be held at 8 a.m. Pacific Time on April 12 via Adobe TV. You can register with Adobe to watch the live event, where the company says it will unveil top new features for the applications that make up CS5, including Photoshop and its new CS Live online services. The company released no further details about the applications.

Adobe CS5 will be the first major overhaul to the company's suite of creative tools since the September 2008 release of Adobe CS4. That suite contained 13 products including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator; 14 integrated technologies like Bridge and Version Cue; and seven services like Acrobat.com.
