Hello,

I'm running Microsoft XP on a T43 Thinkpad. I just tried installing the Microsoft Office compatibility pack (fileformatconverters.exe) as downloaded from the microsoft website.

When I run the .exe file, I receive an error message saying that I have insufficient privileges to access folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Office12

I have admin rights as this is my personal machine. I have a number of documents in newer versions of Excel and Powerpoint and I really need to access these files ASAP.

Thank you,
gerger

Actually I solved the problem. I customized the programs that open on startup and all the files weren't loading. I set the computer to start normally through MSCONFIG and installed the program.

thank you
