Laptop KeyBoard And Mouse Pad Not Working

I recently discovered/removed a virus with windows defender and restarted the computer where it deleted some "corrupted" files then loaded up and the laptop's keyboard and mousepad did not work. I plugged in a spare usb keyboard and usb mouse through the usb ports and they work.

The laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1318 with Windows Vista.

Thanks in Advance if you can figure my problem out.

P.S. I did all of the basic things recommended usally.

From what i have read seems like your drivers were possibly corrupted and deleted along with the virus. Try downloading drivers from http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&os=WLH&osl=en&SystemID=INSPIRON1318&catid=-1&impid=-1 for drivers.
