Dell SLIM..looking for new sound card...

Hello!

I have a Dell Inspiron 545S..its a SLIM little computer, with a few, smaller than usual expansion bays in the back. The on board 7.1 sound SUCKS and i know theres a sound card out there that will fit this pc i just cannot find it.

One of the expansion bays is used for the wireless. A picture of the inside of my exact machine can be seen here:

I think the two white ones are PCI Express x16..although if i knew for sure i wouldn't be posting.

Any help in finding aftermarket sound for this computer is GREATLY appreciated. The onboard sound sucks and this pc is such a powerhouse, i dont wanna sell it just cause the SOUND IS BAD!!!!!

A slim line PCI Audio is pretty hard to find especiall if your looking for a 5.1 or 7.1 output. How about a USB sound card this is what i have on my Slimline HP PC connected to my home Theater since the onboard sound was pretty crappy

I dont even need 7.1 at ALLLL

I just wanna plug in a basic 3.1 computer speaker setup and push it like my old pc and have it sound GOOD. Same on the headphones. The sound output all around just sucks. Will this USB thing help me?

it sounds good to me, I have it connected through the optical cable to my Reciever and it was cheep. If you really want a good quality sound card and dont mind paying a little more I would go with this
