Conclusion
________________________________________

Crash dumps are enabled and no valid crash dumps have been found on your computer. In case your computer does experience sudden reboots it is likely these are caused by malfunctioning hardware, power failure or a thermal issue. To troubleshoot a thermal issue, check the temperature using your BIOS setup program, check for dust in CPU and motherboard fans and if your computer is portable make sure it's located on a hard surface. Otherwise it's suggested you contact the support department of the manufacturer of your system or test your system with a memory test utility for further investigation.

Why is my one question in the "trash incinerator" forum? What is that?
About the Nikon Transfer question, what information do you need? If you tell me, I can provide whatever is necessary. Thank you!

The one question about m.yahoo.com, beats me why one of the mods sent it there. But, let's take one issue at a time here on this thread, and we can try to get all of it solved soon.

I need to take a deeper look at the devices:

Please download the latest version of Kaspersky GetSystemInfo (GSI) from Kaspersky and save it to your Desktop.
media slots "not ready" message Icon13 Please close all other applications running on your system.

Please double click GetSystemInfo.exe to open it.

Click the Settings button.media slots "not ready" message 2hd457o

Set it to Maximum

media slots "not ready" message Icon13 IMPORTANT! Then please click Customize - choose Driver / Ports tab and uncheck Scan Ports.

Click Create Report to run it.media slots "not ready" message 2ekm73m

It will create a zip folder called GetSystemInfo_XXXXXXXXXXXXXX.zip on your Desktop. Please upload the folder to Kaspersky GSI Parser and click the Submit button.

Please copy and paste the url of the GSI Parser report (not the log) in your next reply.

I hope this is right!

By the way, my "D" drive is (was) a CD-RW and my "E" drive is (was) a DVD-RW. Thanks!

Appears media slots are not installed. They need their driver. Do you have a drivers disc for your computer?

descriptionmedia slots "not ready" message EmptyRe: media slots "not ready" message

more_horiz
No I do not. I bought this computer from Best Buy, and no discs came with it. I guess I was supposed to make back up discs when I got it, but never did, and then when I needed them, it was too late. I also have an unauthorized copy of Windows installed on here, remember? I tried to get the drivers from the Emachine website, but could not download them because of the other problems! I still need to recover my deleted files before I do anything else to find those pictures that were lost somehow when I got rid of that virus.

Ok. Looks like they are installed, but with a Microsoft driver.

Now, is this device plugged in manually or part of the computer?

descriptionmedia slots "not ready" message EmptyRe: media slots "not ready" message

part of the computer. And the usb drive in the front of the computer does not read all of the time either.

Oh ok.

Seems like a host controller is faulting.

In order to get the USB ports and the SD Card ports to work fully, the Host Controller must be fully functioning.

To remove and reinstall all USB controllers, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type sysdm.cpl in the Open box, and then click OK.
  2. Click the Hardware tab.
  3. Click the Device Manager button.
  4. Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
  5. Right-click every device under the Universal Serial Bus controllers node, and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.
  6. Restart the computer, and then reinstall the USB controllers.
  7. Plug in the removable USB storage device, and then test to make sure that the issue is resolved.
