Win32/Nugel.E and BankerFox.A virus

I am receiving several pop up windows for Antivirus System Pro alert, Infiltration alert, and Windows security alerts warning of a virus. The pop warnings state the virus to be Win32/Nugel.E and BankerFox.A.
I am running AVG anti-virus, I did a manual scan - in addition to the daily automatic, and it came up with a trojan horse virus, which was sent to the vault.
But the pop-ups still won't stop!!

This is all occuring on my desktop computer.
Additionally, my laptop now can't connect to the internet thru my home wireless network - same one the infected desktop uses - and the laptop problem started the same time as these pop ups on my desktop started - and I'm afraid they may be related.

Any ideas?? Could this virus on my desktop make my laptop unable to connect to the internet?? It basically made my built in wireless adapter disappear!! Then I went and bought a USB wireless network adapter, installed that in the laptop, it worked for a few hours and then THAT stopped working!!!

AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!

I am SO frustrated!!!!

How do I get these pop ups to stop??
Are the pop-ups the actual virus??
I am not a computer expert - or anywhere even close - so I apologize if I sound kinda clueless .....

Can you help???

Please download the current version of HijackThis from HERE

• Double click and run the installer.
  
• It will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\hijackthis.exe
  
• After installing, you should get the user agreement, press accept and Hijack This will run.
  
• Select Do a system scan and save a log file. This will open a notepad file of everything Hijack This found, copy and paste it back here.
