Problem with internet surfing and can't get to Facebook

Back in April, our antivirus quit working at my work place and I didn't know it until a month ago. We are using McAfee Enterprise.
I had been using my flash drive in my work computer. I started noticing that my flash drive would not autorun. When I looked at my flash on my computer, it appeared as a folder and to get into it, I would have to Explore it rather than trying to open it as it would not open by doing that.

I got the administrator to get our antivirus back up and running and when we scanned it the first time, it found three different viruses. I only found where I wrote 2 of them down.
1. W32/Autorun.worm.bm
2. BackDoor-DVI.gen.a (Bcuzz.exe)

In the mean time, I had used my flash drive in my computers at home as well. I now have trouble with all my home computers. Most run Windows XP and one is using Vista. Same problem with them all.

In reading some of your other advice, I downloaded and ran Malwarebytes Anti Malware. I Here is the result of that test.

By the way, the computer we are talking about here is a Gateway Laptop running Windows XP. I have tried both IE6 and Google Chrome and neither is able to get to Facebook. Other sites load very slowly as well.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  
• Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
  
• The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  

Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Post the contents of the MBAM Log.

I did the scan above again like you said. I had done that already and the results were in the top of my first input. There were no infections as the program had already cleaned them up in the above test.

Download OTL by OldTimer to your Desktop.

One problem we are still having on all of our computers is we can't get to facebook very often if at all.

One thing I saw that others had as a suggestion was to put an "s" after the normal http. That will get me in to the site but things still don't work correctly.

Right now my wife can get into www.facebook.com but when she tried to get to her farmville web page from within there, it locked up the computer.

I was just playing some more on trying to get to facebook. I was using Windows XP, and trying to get there using Google Chome.

By putting an "s" to make it https:// I was able to get to the page I was trying to get to. Once there, I would click on the next link I wanted to go to.

That would load the URL in the address line above but would not go to the site.

When I again added the "s", it would go to that page. And I kept on doing this.

On one page I went to, I could see in the bottom left corner of Chrome that it said: waiting for static.ak.fbcdn.net... not sure how long of a string it was but it only showed that. Not that it means anything.

I am now able to get onto facebook....I think they must have been having trouble of some kind.

Maybe just coincidence that it happened along with the time I had a virus on my thumbdrive...I don't know.

Please plug in your thumb drive, it's likely still infected.

I plugged in my thumb drive. Nothing happened. I looked at it in "My Computer". The thumb didn't open by itself. The device looked like an external drive in my computer instead of a file folder.

I reformatted the thumb anyway. Would this get rid of any viruses I would have? Can I use the thumb safely now?

The drive wont open itself anymore because OTL script removed the autorun and autoplay. Formatting it should have got rid of the autorun.inf file on it too.
